Practical Information

GETTING TO BANYANDAH

Manyana is located 13km off the Princes Highway, between Jervis Bay and Ulladulla. It is one of 3 hamlets located on the Redhead Peninsula, close to Bendalong and Cunjurong Point.

Take the Bendalong Rd turn-off, approximately 11km after the Sussex Inlet Rd (if travelling from the north) or 15km from Milton (if travelling from the south). Follow the Bendalong Rd for approximately 11km, and just before you reach Bendalong, turn right into Inyadda Dr, which takes you into Manyana.

SUPERMARKETS
The Bendalong General Store & Cafe is open 7 days and sells basic supplies of most things you might need, including great takeaway coffee.

There is also The Deli in Cunjurong Point which sells ice creams, milk, bread, coffee, some basic groceries, and take-away food (including pizza-to-order on Thursday nights).

The nearest supermarket is the Milton IGA which is 20 minutes’ drive away in Milton. The IGA is well-stocked with everything you might need for holiday meals (including beer & wine), and has good quality fruit & vegetables.

The fishing port of Ulladulla is a further 10 minutes’ drive south from Milton. Here you’ll find Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Target and a good range of specialty stores.

Woolworths Online delivers to Manyana, so feel free to place an order for delivery to this address.

SHOPPING & EATING
The historic town of Milton is approximately 20 minute’s drive south of Manyana, and has a fabulous selection of shops, as well as two pubs and several cafes and restaurants. Refer to our listing of local restaurants for contact details of our top recommendations.

Milton hosts its monthly markets on the first Saturday of each month. The eclectic range of goods available includes fresh produce, plants, locally made preserves and sauces, craft items, jewellery, children’s clothing, delicious confectionary and bakery items, preloved books and collectibles, natural health products and more.

BOOKS and DVDs
We have equipped the house with a good selection of books and DVDs that we hope will appeal to a range of guests, both young and not-so-young. Feel free to borrow a book or two while you’re here.

The Blu-ray players both upstairs and downstairs can play both Blu-ray and DVD discs from all regions, not just Australia.

Instruction manuals for both TVs and Blu-ray players are located in the Instruction Manuals folder in the kitchen.

LAUNDRY
A front-loading washing machine and clothes dryer are available for guest use in the downstairs laundry. The washing banyandah-laundrymachine uses the low-sudsing detergent usually used in front-loading machines. There is a supply of laundry detergent in the laundry, which is available for guest use.

We have also supplied a clothes tumble dryer which we invite you to use should you wish, but we request you be mindful of energy usage and not run it for excessive periods of time.

If the weather is sunny, please consider using the “environmentally-friendly” clothesline in the back garden instead of the dryer.

Instruction manuals for both the washing machine and dryer are located in the Instruction Manuals folder in the kitchen.

RUBBISH BINS & RECYCLING
Bin night is Monday nights, for collection early on Tuesday mornings. We would really appreciate it if you could place the wheelie bins on the side of the road on Monday evenings; similarly, please bring in the empty bins on Tuesday mornings after they have been emptied.

BEDDING and PILLOWS
We have equipped the house with plenty of doonas, cozy blankets and a selection of types of pillows, so you are sure to be warm and comfortable. There are spare blankets and pillows in the wardrobes of all the upstairs bedrooms.

All of the beds are fitted with hotel-quality “Sheraton sweet sleeper” mattresses to ensure you get a comfortable night’s sleep. We request that you ask children to refrain from jumping on the beds. Please also keep pets off the beds (and other furniture) to ensure they remain in top condition for all our guests.

We can also arrange for linen hire on request (must be pre-booked).

TELEPHONE & MOBILE RECEPTION
There is very good Telstra and Optus reception at Banyandah, and in the local area.

INTERNET & Wi-Fi
There is FREE wi-fi internet service available at Banyandah. The login details are on the kitchen fridge.

DOCTOR & PHARMACY
The nearest doctor is in Milton.

The nearest pharmacy/chemist is in Milton.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Banyandah has several features to assist in heating and cooling the house, according to the season. There are ceiling fans in all of the upstairs bedrooms, reverse-cycle air-conditioning in the living room, external blinds on the front balcony and on some west-facing windows (which can be lowered in the late afternoon, or on hot days). In hot weather, lowering the exterior blinds will significantly reduce the temperature inside the house, and minimise the need for air-conditioning.

Whilst we invite you to use all of the heating and cooling appliances in the house as you need to, we respectfully request you to be mindful of your energy usage, and its impact on our beautiful environment.

HOUSEKEEPING
Should you need a light bulb or battery changed while you are staying at Banyandah, please let the staff at Ray White Bendalong Manyana know, and they will be happy to assist.
